This handcarved teak bench stands 18 inches high by 4 feet long, with a surface that varies between 16 and 17 inches in width with the natural edge of the wood. It features a straight back edge so it can be either pushed up against a wall for use as a foyer bench, for example, or pulled into the middle of a room as a striking centerpiece. Because the wood is finished in tung oil and has natural weather-resistant properties, this bench even looks great outdoors in a pool, patio, or garden area!
Teak wood is regulated by the Royal Forestry Department of Thailand and, if maintained properly, will last for years. Each piece is finished with all natural, non-toxic teak oil, making them safe for any area of the home and non-damaging to the environment. Not to mention, this extra finish makes the wood that much more durable! All of these products were hand-carved and finished by local Chiang Mai, Thailand artisans to support their local farms and communities.
NOTE: No two natural wood products are the same! Our wood products may have different variations in tone, small cracks that are sanded and finished, knots or other slight imperfections. This is a result of them being hand-picked and hand-carved pieces so every single one is unique. Product Care: Teak wood is naturally resilient and needs little to no maintenance. However, to alter the appearance of your teak wood, you can allow the teak oil to evaporate over time, turning the wood different shades of gray.
