Cradle to Cradle

It is important to know how the products you buy are grown, harvested, cleaned, crafted and reused. Knowing where your favorite home decor first began is especially important when the owner or distributor of that product states that it is eco-friendly or organic. That being said, we've created a section of our site completely devoted to providing information about our products and how they're made. We've also thrown in some tips on how to recycle, reuse or properly dispose of these items.

Information About Organic, Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Products

If there's one thing we've seen a lack of across all online and offline media channels, it's information about green products. Many companies claim to have the best quality organics and use only eco-friendly treatments to produce the fine products you see in their stores. But they lack the in depth knowledge of how the product is made, harvested, and finally, how you should use and maintain your new green home decor. We're determined to break the mold and provide you with expert advice on the ins and outs of all of our products and a navigation system that will make it easy to find what you're looking for.

Feng Shui

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of arranging spaces to achieve harmony with the environment. Used in architectural planning and in interior design, Feng Shui rests on the notion that our lives are affected by our physical environments. Primarily concerned with optimal energy flow, it can affect a person's health, wealth, and personal relationships.

Lighting Information:

Eco-friendly lighting involves everything from using CFLs and LEDs to adding mirrors or larger windows to a home. Even the materials that make up the light fixtures can be made up of recycled and non-harmful components. Generally for these products (lamps, bulbs and other supplies), going organic can mean a little more upfront cost, but the ultimate savings you'll see will be long term when you are using a lot less energy.

From Plant To Product:

With such a diversified vegetation growing around the world, it's no wonder we've been able to come up with awesome alternative uses for fast and abundant growing plant life. Some of the most commonly used plants are cotton, hemp and bamboo. We've done a little deeper digging to find out some more fun facts about each of these items and what goes into creating these green products.

Is It Really Eco Friendly?

What makes a product eco-friendly? A great majority of the time, if someone claims their product is eco-friendly, it really is. It could be made out of completely organic or recycled materials that are completely waste free. However, the main issue we're running into now is HOW those products are processed and then sent to you. For instance, most mass producing corporate companies that focus on using only eco-materials end up expelling just as much waste and energy as they are saving by creating those materials. Shipping a product always involves some form of transportation which uses some level of fossil fuels. The best thing you can do in this instance is look for the closest locations and do your homework on the producers of the product you are purchasing.
