Unison
Unison began in 2006, when husband and wife team Robert Segal and Alicia Rosauer returned to the States after a four–year design stint in Finland. Inspired by modern design, nature, architecture, photography, and traditional textiles, the two worked to establish a product line that would bring modern design into practical daily life.
Unison's collection of printed bedding, blankets, throw pillows, and table linens mix organic and graphic inspired motifs for a modern and colorful look. Some of the items are seasonal, but all together Unison's products are year–round staples that redefine the classic home textile. Referred to as “minimal but with substance,” the collection strives to be warm and attainable while maintaining minimal, modern qualities through the use of unique color and quality fabrics.
Conscious of their environmental impact and quality of product, Unison commits to manufacturing all of their bedding and blankets under Oeko-tex certified standards and uses certified organic fibers for their maturing organic lines. Participating in local production, their signature hand–printed pillows and table linens are cut and sewn at small factories in Chicago.
Since their debut collection, Unison has been selected as a finalist for the Best New Product Award in the Home Accessories Category from the New York Home Textiles Market Week in 2007 and was also honored with an American Graphic Design Award for excellence in communication and graphic design in 2006. Their most recent recognition was for their 2008 Spring Catalog that was included in the GraphisDesignAnnual2009.
LightenUp Design
Your furniture is fabulous. But honey, your lighting is simply boring!
LightenUp Design started with a simple belief, that the power of art and design can enhance one’s life and surroundings. Lighting, color and art have an enormous impact on the way we experience a room. Their original goal was to turn the utilitarian lamp into a beautiful sculpture that would add panache and elegance to any space. Now that they've completed that goal they've applied that same idea into their new tabletop collection!
LightenUp Design is a eco- friendly company and commits to leveraging our resources to create a healthier planet. All materials used by LightenUp Design non-toxic, afterall you cannot use a more earth friendly product than clay! The lamps are compatible with compact flourescent bulbs and we recommend to all of our customers to use these bulbs to help save energy.
Forever Bamboo
As a remarkable renewable resource and the fastest growing plant on earth, bamboo grows faster than the fastest growing tree. Some species grow up to 1 meter per day, and can be selectively harvested annually with no need for replanting. Bamboo plays an important role in the reduction of timber consumption, environmental and forest protection, poverty alleviation and sustainable development of rural economies.
Distinctively devised and designed to complement the styling of both indoor and outdoor living, Forever Bamboo bamboo rugs are purchased directly from the Anji mountain region, and made from the finest quality bamboo in the world. These beautiful rugs will enhance any room setting with an elegant touch of Eastern style and offer extraordinary durability.
Bliss Candles
Bliss Soybean Candles are hand crafted in Grand Haven, Michigan using 100% soy wax. They use only the highest quality ingredients, including metal-free wicks, which results in a high quality candle that is healthier for your family and home! Pure soy candles have a much lower soot emission than paraffin, some even claim there is no soot whatsoever. Their soy candles are all natural and soy wax holds fragrance longer and has an incredible scent even when it isn't burning.
Have you ever burned a candle for a few hours and noticed that it doesn't smell any more? You won't have this with a Bliss Candle. Many customers say they find Bliss Candles to be more heavily scented than other candles. Plus soy candles burn better because they don't liquefy if put in the appropriate size holder with the right size wick. If you buy jar candles, plan on a minimum of four hours for the 10 oz or larger -- I personally burn them around five to seven hours. Another great benefit is that soy supports American farmers! These candles are a "must try." Once you try them, you won't want any other kind of candle!
